The way that a web hosting server is set up to serve files is very different from the requirements of a podcast server. A web host delivers many small files very quickly and then moves on to the next clients on another website. Podcasting delivers very large files slowly,

It is possible, however, to store and use your Rapid Web Hosting account to store and deliver podcasts, so long as they are referenced by, and relevant to, a website that is being hosted on the same account. This will work just fine for a small number of download, but will start to cause problems when the number of podcast downloads per month gets into the thousands.

So if you are creating a podcasting website and you don’t yet have a separate podcasting account, then yes, you can start with using your Rapid Hosting account. But please bear in mind the following:-

1. Podcasts use a lot of bandwidth, so choose an unmetered plan
2. All stored podcasts must be relevant to the website in the account
3. Any copyright infringement can result in your account being suspended or terminated.
4. Once your podcast downloads are in the thousands per month, this will start to interfere with your web hosting and you will have to move the podcasts to a specialised podcast server.

Yes, your data is 100% safe. With our Rapid WP Hosting, the entire server is backed up every day with the last 5 days of backups kept. Please note that this is a complete server back up and not individual accounts. This means, that in an emergency, we can extract a backup for your account, but that there will be a US$15 charge for doing this.

We recommend that you make your own backup of the Home Directory and Database (using the backup facility in cPanel) before making any major changes to the files of your website. If you also purchase our CodeGuard service, then you can automatic backups being stored for 90 days or more.

If you have installed WordPress (or another script such as Joomla) using Softaculous, then you can also set Softaculous to create automated backups for you. For example, Sofaculous can make a backup every day, keeping the last two days of backups.

Please note that with our slightly more expensive Xtreme WP Hosting, individual hosting accounts are backed up. Our Xtreme plans include a free ``restore from backup`` service that you can access directly from your cPanel.

Rapid Hosting plans are ideal for creating a new eCommerce website. WooCommerce (& all other eCommerce websites) will place a heavy load on the server in proportion to the number of people who are simultaneously shopping and editing products. This is because each logged in user will be seeing unique content (unique shopping carts, tailored special offers, shipping info, etc), and so it is not possible for pages to be cached in the same way as for a normal WordPress site.

Rapid Hosting will be fine with a peak load of a handful people simultaneously using WooCommerce. However, if you are expecting heavier use that this, or you will have multiple staff logged into your online shop, then our Xtreme or Cloud Hosting products would be more suitable.
